How to Find a Compromise for Your First Look Photo Shooting

First Look photo shootings are quite popular these days – and truly, they can bring you a lot of benefits. Of course, you might associate this kind of pictures with superstitions connected to your good luck as a married couple too – so it is understandable if you and your partner find it difficult to decide on whether or not you should have a First Look photo shooting on your wedding day.

How to do that? And how to find a compromise solution for this issue?

We have some tips for you – so read on and find out more.

  • Analyze the benefits. For instance, a First Look photo session can ease your nerves before the actual ceremony and it can help you grow even closer to your loved one. Furthermore, it is a nice way to save some time (since the majority of the pictures will be taken before the ceremony, as opposed to taking them between the ceremony and reception/ during the cocktail hour). Last, but not least, if you think you might cry as you walk down the aisle, you will most likely avoid it with a pre-ceremony photo session (you will cry before the ceremony most probably, and you will be able to re-touch your makeup if needed too).

  • On the other hand, a First Look photo shooting can make the WOW moment at the altar feel a bit less impressive. Furthermore, this kind of photo shooting might make you feel quite nervous, since you will be surrounded by the photographer, videographer, and maybe even the wedding party. Last, but definitely not least, it is also important to consider the fact that you might have to wake up earlier if you want to have a First Look photo session.

  • As a compromise solution, you could have a First Touch photo shooting (where you don’t actually see each other because you are facing opposite sides). Reading a letter from your loved one for this photo session can create some pretty emotional pictures. Also, if you want to make your wedding ceremony a little surprising as well, you can have your First Look photo session without all of the accessories (e.g. veil, jewelry, shoes, etc.).
